Сборная России по регби-7, в состав которой входит воспитанник РК «Пенза» Александр Янюшкин, сейчас находится в Гонконге, где 28-30 марта состоится не только культовый тур Мировой серии, но и квалификационный отбор за право сыграть на всех этапах этого престижнейшего турнира в следующем году.

Наши регбисты попали в группу «Е», где их соперниками станут сборные Барбадоса, Чили и Зимбабве. По традиции, сложившейся за последние несколько лет,тренировку нашей национальной команды посетили русские, живущие и работающие в Гонконге. В этот раз они захватили с собой и детей.

В Гонконге возрождают традицию проведения русских балов

Благотворительный Русский бал состоится в Гонконге. Его устраивает Русский клуб в поддержку местной благотворительной организации St. James’ Settlement, сообщает сайт Координационного совета соотечественников в Китае.

Бал состоится в одном из лучших отелей Гонконга. Организаторы рассчитывают на возрождение великих традиций русских балов за рубежом и привлечения внимания к богатой истории русской культуры.

В программе вечера исторические бальные танцы, уроки бальных танцев для всех желающих, выступление русской балетной школы в Гонконге, благотворительный аукцион и розыгрыш призов от спонсоров и партнёров бала.

Русский клуб — существующая уже 15 лет некоммерческая организация, представляющая русскую культуру в многонациональной среде Гонконга. Все доходы от бала направят на то, чтобы дети из неблагополучных семей могли обучаться в художественной и балетной школах, открытых в Гонконге выходцами из России.

Hong Kong’s Ukrainians rally against Russian invasion, then join Russia ball

Members of Hong Kong’s tiny Ukrainian community made a public plea for their country to be left in peace yesterday, on one of the biggest days in the social calendar for the city’s Russian speakers.

Some 38 Ukrainians and a handful of participants from Turkey, the United States and Canada took part in a two-hour rally in Queen’s Road Central to protest against Russian involvement in the country.

Russian troops were deployed to Crimea after the ousting of Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych last month.

“It was brilliant. I was so happy to meet so many other Ukrainians in Hong Kong,” rally organiser Oksana Charlton said. “It was a very peaceful demonstration.”

Charlton, who moved to Hong Kong with her English husband, said: “We had the flag and we wore flowers in our hair, which is tradition. Some people also wore the vyshyvka, our traditional Ukrainian shirt.”

Despite the geopolitical hostility back home, Odessa-born Charlton said there was no talk of politics when she attended the Russian Ball in Causeway Bay last night.

The event is one of the biggest occasions on the social calendar for Hong Kong’s Russian speakers, including many Ukrainians. The Russian consul general, Vladimir Kalinin, gave a speech at the ball but made no mention of Ukraine.

Charlton said organisers had asked her not to bring up the political situation, a request she honoured.

Earlier in the week, Charlton and a group of seven other Ukrainians handed a petition to the Russian consulate calling for a peaceful solution to the situation in their homeland.

Russia claims troops moved into Crimea to protect Russian citizens there, but the manoeuvre has led to concerns the region and areas of eastern Ukraine could secede.

В Гонконге пройдет благотворительный Русский бал

8 марта в Гонконге состоится благотворительный Русский бал. Собранные средства пойдут на обучение гонконгских детей из неблагополучных семей в художественной и балетной школах, открытых российскими соотечественниками

Бал состоится в банкетном зале одного из лучших отелей Гонконга Exelsior. Его организаторы рассчитывают на возрождение великих традиций русских балов за рубежом и привлечения внимания к богатой истории русской культуры.

Русский клуб – существующая уже 15 лет некоммерческая организация, представляющая русскую культуру в многонациональной среде Гонконга.

Russian Charity Ball in Hong Kong

The Russian Charity Ball in Hong Kong will take place on March 8th this year. It is organized by the Russian Club in Hong Kong in support of the local charity St.James’ Settlement. All proceeds will go towards providing an opportunity for local socially deprived children to enjoy classes for creative development and building self-esteem at the Art academy and Ballet school run by the Russian-speaking community in Hong Kong. The Russian Ball is set to revive the tradition of grand Russian Balls outside of Russia and draw more attention to the richness and diversity of Russian culture. The Ball will take place at the banqueting hall of one of the finest hotels in the city – The Excelsior. The program of the Ball includes historic Ballroom dances, a performance from the Russian school of ballet in Hong Kong, a charity auction and lottery with prizes from sponsors and partners of the Ball. All guests can enjoy specially organized lessons in historic ballroom dances before the Ball. Historically Russian Balls outside of Russia were hosted by the exiled white Russian community at the start of the 20th Century and were famous for being decadent, luxurious and glamorous affairs with exquisite music and opulent apparel. The Russian Club in Hong Kong is proud to continue the revival of a traditional grand Russian Ball, it is a great way of preserving a classic Russian cultural tradition in Hong Kong. The Russian Club in Hong Kong is a non-profit organization cultivating Russian language and culture in the Hong Kong’s cosmopolitan environment. The Club was founded in 1999 to support Russian speakers residing in Hong Kong. In 2014 Russian Club is celebrating its 15-year anniversary. The first Russian Ball hosted by the Russian Club was organized in Hong Kong in 2008. The Balls of 2009 and 2011 were tremendously successful, meanwhile this year twice as many guests are expected to attend the Ball as the previous record. St.James’ Settlement is a Hong Kong charity spanning more than 60 years of history. Its work is mostly aimed at helping underprivileged residents of Hong Kong.
